A True Crime -style mystery takes guests into the middle of a criminal investigation involving a gloomy rural scene, a dead body floating in a well, and a possible homicide.
STORY
Monday, February 3, 2025. The Emergency Response Centre receives a call about a body found in a well on a private property. The body was discovered by water utility workers, and according to the coroner, the elderly woman has been lying in her watery grave for several weeks. Some details in preliminary police investigations give reason to suspect that the death was not accidental, but have the traces of a homicide gone cold in the middle of a winter? The police have not found any witnesses to the possible crime, but their investigation leads to two people who the police have asked to be interviewed. Your job is to help the police get on the right track, and find solid reason to arrest one of the suspects through evidence and interrogation. Consider carefully what you want to ask the suspects, as there are many approaches to the case and time is limited. Can you solve the mystery of The Body in the Well?

HOW THE STORY GOES

Senior Detective Constable Saarela is faced with a new mystery and asks the audience for help in solving a murder. The guests' task is to find out the true story behind the case, get acquainted with the evidence, participate in the interrogation of the suspects, and try to find inconsistencies in their stories and crucial evidence to arrest the right person. The duration of the program is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and a dinner can be timed in conjunction with the program, or it can be organized separately.

In Tuoni Studios’ criminal investigation programs, guests do not have their own characters, but everyone can participate in the event solving the case in pairs or small groups.

VENUE AND EQUIPMENT

The program can be implemented either in one room in front of all guests, or divided into several separate rooms. The program requires either a video projector and a screen, or a TV screen. For events with more than 50 people, a PA system and three microphones (preferably headsets) are required.

If the show is in one single room, a stage or clear performance area in front of the guests is required. Two tables and four chairs are needed on the stage, and a table for evidence outside the stage.

If the program is divided into several rooms, we need two separate rooms for the questioning of the suspects and one room for instructions, where all the guests can fit at the same time. The detective's workstation can be built either in the same space where general instructions are given, or in their own room.

TIPS FOR THE SHOW

The program is divided into two parts: examining the evidence, and questioning the suspects. It is worth taking notes on the evidence so that you can ask the suspects the right questions.
We recommend bringing at least one charged smart device, and, if necessary, reading glasses for the program. All evidence can be examined physically, but useful information related to the case may also be found online.
In Murder Mysteries, sharing information and cooperation are the keys to success, and at the end of the investigation, each group forms its own theory.
You can ask the detective for more clues, tips and tricks to the murder investigation.
