A crime scene investigation, where the guests have characters, does not contain violence
William von Nielsen made a legacy with his humor before he died. The controversial comedian was found dead from his hotel room in Funland Resort. The cause of death isn’t publicly known and his inner circle is keeping quiet about what happened. But anyone who has ever read a tabloid knows very well that not all of William’s jokes were funny. He’s been bashed as a father, a husband, a lover, a comedian, a colleague and even as an enemy! Could it be that he was murdered?
A millionaire patriarch is dead and the reading of his Last Will and Testament lures relatives, acquaintances and long-term colleagues to attend. No one is willing to leave the reading empty-handed, but no one expected the Testament to be a complete joke. What happened to William von Nielsen and who will get the last laugh?

CHARACTERS
William’s relatives, friends, business partners and other greedy guests attend the reading of his will. You might meet some peculiar characters such as the CEO of Funland left to attend the resort all alone, William’s offspring dreaming of stardom, a lawyer specializing in tax evasion, a rival comedian, and of course, William’s spiritual guides, a dead serious hospital clown and the world’s funniest zookeeper.
DRESS CODE
The guests can dress however they see fit. The occasion is the reading of the will, but no one liked the man enough to wear a mourning suit.
Dressing up for the Murder Mystery’s theme helps you immerse yourself in the story and we encourage such endeavors. Character sheets give some ideas of what the character might wear or look like. We want to emphasize that dressing up is not necessary, and the most important thing is to feel comfortable in whatever you choose to wear. What you can find from your own wardrobe is sufficient, but if you want to put in some extra effort, you might find what you need from costume rentals, flea markets, or party prop stores.
VENUE AND EQUIPMENT
The venue should have enough seats for everyone in case of a dinner, and ample room to mingle. A cabinet in a restaurant, a cabin or a big room in a mansion are great for this purpose. At least one extra table is needed to place the evidence for the investigations. No need for a stage nor additional AV equipment.
TIPS & TRICKS
Acting or memorizing lines are not required when taking part in a Murder Mystery. No one is forced to exit their comfort zone. However, by throwing yourself into the story and your own character, you get the most out of the program.
If you normally need glasses to read, we recommend bringing a pair.
Conveying information and co-operating with other characters are the key to success in a Murder Mystery. Try to find characters you can trust, ally with, and share information with.
Each character has their own agenda, so don’t trust everyone.
If you feel stuck, ask the Tuoni Studios’ host for help. They’ll give you more tips on how to advance with your personal goals or solving the case.
